Havanese dogs, which enchant people with their long hairs and very cute images, have been very popular since the 1800s.

Historical

Havanese dogs began to be used frequently since 1492 after the discovery of the American continent. These dogs, of Cuban origin, have survived to the present day, with their genetics unchanged throughout history, as they live in the isolated environment of Cuba.

This breed, which was fed especially by Cuban aristocrats in the 1800s, gained a great reputation in Europe in the mid-1800s, especially because it was the dog of Queen Victoria.

Havanese dogs, which started to spread in the USA in 1959, are fed with interest by many people all over the world.

Weight – Dimensions

The Havanese breed does not grow too much and always maintains its small, cute images. Their weight reaches a maximum of 5.5 kilograms and their length reaches around 25 cm.

Lifetime

The Havanese breed can live on average between 12 and 15 years.

Personality

This race, which got along very well with people, attracted attention because of its proximity to its owners throughout history. Due to this feature in some periods, the Havanese breed, which received nicknames meaning “sticky” in Turkish, is a very loving and complete family dog.

Havanese dogs, who cannot live alone for a long time due to being a very social breed, can be stressed when left alone. This race, which follows its owner from room to room even in the home, always needs human attention.

The Havanese breed is extremely intelligent and observer. The race, which can learn all kinds of tricks easily, will also like to sit around on your lap all day and watch around.

Although Havanese dogs are social, they can be a little shy about the people they meet for the first time. In such cases, you can see your dog watching or hiding the guests from afar.

Care

You should definitely take the Havanese dogs, which are small in size but have a very serious energy level, for long walks. Also, it is recommended that you play games that you can waste energy during your walks.

Dogs of the Havanese breed are suitable for living in the home, too weak to live in the garden or outside. If you get enough exercise, you can feed your Havanese breed dog without problems at home.

Relationship with Children

Havanese dogs are ideal for families. They can live together with children of all ages, as well as with dogs of different breeds and other pets. However, as with any dog, it is not recommended to leave alone with small children in dogs of this breed.
