These cats, which were very common in France in the 18th century, were often fed especially in royal buildings to control mice and similar pests. These cats, which were killed for fur making in the same period, have an important place in the history of France because their feathers are impressive.

Chartreux cats, one of the famous poets of the 18th century, also in the poems of Joachin de Bellay, are depicted as “death to mice”. Thanks to its active structure and beauty, the recognition of cats that attract attention everywhere was found in 1987.

The Chartreux breed, which lived as a street cat in Paris until the 1900s, is known as one of the oldest cat breeds in history.

This cat breed with thin hairs can be cleaned once a week. For the hairs to be healthy, regular combing is essential. Apart from that, you may need to comb several times a week, especially as the hair begins to fall out in the spring.
